Selected Graphic Design Work (Canva)

This post features several graphic designs I created for a range of extracurricular activities, all of which were created with Canva

VOX CIVITAS (2024-2025)

In my role as Visual Design Editor, I collaborated with team members to support the success of the inaugural edition of the undergraduate public policy journal, Vox Civitas. In January, I designed promotional materials to encourage submissions from student writers. In April, I illustrated the back cover for the final publication. I drew the vector graphics in the first and last images of this set using Procreate on my iPad.

KSS OFFLINE (2022)

In the midst of the pandemic, I collaborated with a classmate to create a digital wellness campaign titled, “KSS OFFLINE,” for a class leadership project.

The project provided students with various tools, advice and suggestions to help them take better care of themselves as they lived and learned online. I kept used a colour scheme of five colours: cream for the background, teal, orange and sun yellow for the accents and black for the text. Layered text and various font sizes were used to add emphasis to main ideas, titles, or points of significance.

STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (2021-2022)

Below are several graphics I designed while I was a member of my high school student council. The first poster was created for the return to in-person learning following one of the longest periods of synchronous learning during the pandemic.

I spearheaded the KSS sticker design competition and created the advertising materials for the event. After the student body selected four winning designs, the student council produced several hundred stickers and distributed them for free to the entire student body.

In keeping with our school colours and mascot, much of the promotional material I made had a vibrant blue theme with bear motifs spread throughout. I chose vector graphics and monochrome silhouettes when possible to keep the visuals simple and straightforward. The use of colour, simple designs and contrast created a visual design that captured people’s attentions and clearly communicated the intended message.
